Just an experiment. I wanted to see what would a piece look like with a graffiti-styled character with thick outlines plastered onto a realistically rendered background. I really like how it came out.

12/9: Starting Over

Two days ago, I discovered the only way I ever try drawing from observation is to see if I could actually draw certain objects that were in front of me, so I decided to challenge myself to draw something as accurately as I can everyday, no matter how complicated it is. Right now, I'm shooting for 100 days.



My first challenge was my roommate's fake potted plant. I've drawn this before, but not in color. There are a couple of things I learned here: (1) I have start feeling forms more, (2) I need to darken some of the colors some more, and (3) I have to think about lighting some more. Other than that, I'm really proud of myself here. I can't wait for the next challenge after work...

Introduction

Who am I? AndyWarhead, Protronist, Tan-Sau, Channel45... I don't have a lot of monikers, but right now, I go by the name Tan-Sau.

I've been drawing anime since I was a pre-teen boy, and I didn't know I had to study the fundamentals of drawing until I was 18. Unfortunately, I'm now just learning them at the age of 26 (actually, I started learning how to draw at 22), and this blog will serve as my personal sketchbook. I would use Tumblr, but there's no comment system, so here I am. From here on, you'll see studies, sketches, doodles, and occasionally finished works, and hopefully if I don't rage quit, you be able to see me grow as an artist over the next couple of years.
